My Favorite LWD.

Okay so I know that the LBD (Little Black Dress) is supposed to be a staple in every girl's closet,   but for some reason I can't get enough of the LWD (Little White Dress).  When we got this dress in at Swank Boutique, I knew that I had to buy it. The lace illusion neck is breathtaking and the off-white color is perfect for spring and summer.  Paired with black heels and my black monogrammed Longchamp purse, this is the perfect date night outfit. Turquoise earrings and a black bow in my hair make the accessories simple yet they still stand out.

I can't decide what I like more: the delicate lace or the graceful keyhole neckline...

Turquoise earrings are the perfect statement piece of jewelery for this dress. The bow adds the perfect girly touch.

My monogrammed Longchamp bags are definitely one of my favorite things in my closet!

I wish I could show you all more of my favorite LWD's, but there are just too many other great things to share! I have some monogrammed items coming in the mail, and I can not wait to play show and tell!

With Fall clothes hitting stores now, I am so excited to start shopping! Metallics, digital prints, and leather are just some of my many obsessions for this fall. Let me know what yours are!

Best Girl Invention Ever.

Well, I should be studying for my Marketing final that I have tomorrow morning...but instead I'm going to write to you all about my new favorite accessory. HAIRTIES. They have such a simple name, but they stand for something so much more.  These little things come in a plethora of colors and they do not break, rip, or crease your hair. The fact that it took someone this long to think of something this great is kind of amazing to me, and I'm sure you're thinking the same thing I am: How did I not think of that?
These are perfect for any girl. Pull your hair up while on a lunch break so you don't accidentally dip your hair in salad dressing (gross but sad to say, I've seen it happen), tie them into the ribbon onto a giftbox for a fun little surprise, wear them as fun bracelets, buy them for your sister, friend or niece so she can make all her friends jealous that they are still using plain, boring black hair ties that crease their hair, the list goes on and on!
You can find these gems at Swank Boutique in Columbia, Missouri. If you don't have the pleasure of living there, order them at their online website! They sell 10-packs for $16.00 and let me tell you, they are worth every penny.

I'm wearing the blue and white glitter paired with a yellow tye-dye!

Trend Feud: Pastel vs. Neon

Two of the biggest color trends this summer have been pastels and neon.  When I first decided to do this post I went to my closet to really look and see which I had more of.  I can honestly say that I was not too surprised when I found no neon items.  I love to stand out in a crowd, but I don't necessarily want to look like the highlighter I use for my textbooks.  I think that neon is a great color for workout clothing, rave parties, or hitting the beach.
I went hunting for a neon clothing item that I would actually wear.  Since the stores in Columbia are minimal this was not an easy task.  I checked every store in the mall and finally ended up in Gap.  I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide array of neon items.  I originally picked up a bright pink neon v-neck but once I put it on I just did not think I could pull it off! I truly think I will never be a neon girl. In the end I chose a tank that is effortless and I can pair with practically anything and is outlined in neon pink. If I ever move back down to the Sunshine State, there is a small chance that I might become a neon girl...but only if I moved to Miami ;)
On the other end of the spectrum, I give you pastels. Finding pastel items will never be a problem for me because I absolutely love them! When I found this pastel blue blouse at Francesca's I was so excited.  The back is the cutest surprise with the three little bows. I recently discovered Francesca's and have been very impressed so far! They sell reasonably prices clothing, jewelery and gifts.  I will definitely be going there more often!

I paired the blue blouse with a pair of black lace shorts I bought at a boutique in Florida.  The strand of pearls goes perfectly with the feminine touch of the bows.

I paired the tank with my J.Crew jean shorts.  It was the perfect casual outfit for a Saturday afternoon or a lunch date with girlfriends!

The color of the shirt looked great paired with my favorite pearl pendant 'E' necklace from John Wind.  I also am addicted to hair ties which you can buy at Swank Boutique! The hair ties come in so many fun colors and you can even wear them as fun bracelets.  They don't break or crease your hair which is every girl's dream!

I wanted to show how different the two different color trends could look paired with something as simple as white jeans. My sister got me these white jeans from J.Crew and I couldn't have found a better pair! The pastel shirt looked so clean and dainty and I really like that the white jeans made the neon in the tank top stand out even more. It proves that basics such as white jeans allow the rest of your closet to be extremely versatile.

Whether you're a neon or pastel person, I say flaunt it! Never feel ashamed to wear something that you love.

Late Night.

I will not deny the fact that I love getting late night food after going out with friends.  I am lucky enough to have chosen two different schools, in two very different parts of the country that have the pizza restaurant Gumby's.  Florida State and Mizzou both have Gumby's conveniently placed right by bars so it has always been easy for me to get sucked into the Pokey Stix trap.  When I was a full-time swimmer, eating obscene amounts of greasy carbs at 2 am never used to phase me.  Now when I order some Pokey Stix when walking home from bars at Mizzou, I would have to spend around 4 hours on an elliptical just to work it off! But oh well, it is definitely worth it.  It also does not help that my swimmer boyfriend from England (Mark) could live off of Pokey Stix (Gumby's delicacy) if he wanted to.
So of course after leaving bars last night, Mark and I just HAD to get Gumby's.  While walking with the pizzas, I made sure Mark captured my late night addiction and my butterfly back top I bought recently.  I can't wait to wear it with black pants to Mizzou football games!

The butterfly back top is one of my new favorite styles, I'll be hunting around to find you places that carry them!

I paired the top with this red beaded necklace I got on clearance at Target for $10! I love statement necklaces, and this red one is perfect to pair with any color top or dress.

More posts coming soon :)

Be Bold.

+Bold colors seem to be extremely popular this summer and when I found this yellow cupcake skirt at Swank Boutique I was so excited! ! I always seem to turn heads when wearing this skirt because of its full, flouncy look and its bright color! I can pair it with a neutral colored blouse or a fun printed top to stand out in the crowd.  For a more conservative jewelery route, I paired my gold monogram necklace with the white/yellow combo.  I paired a turquoise statement necklace and a pearl pendant 'E' necklace with the printed top.  So, my advice for the week is this: BE BOLD! Wear something that will cause people to say 'Is she really wearing that?'.  The people that usually say this are just envious they don't have the courage or style that you do!

Rachel Zoe said it best, "Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak."
